One of the Top Travel destinations in the world, Cairo Egypt is steeped in history, culture, incredible sights, sounds, and the ability to transport you back to a time when Kings and Queens played, ruled, passed on, and were immortalized in the mysterious and magical sands. No trip to Egypt is complete without a visit to the Cairo Museum of Antiquities, Luxor’s Valley of the Kings, and Queens, The Red Sea, Abu Simbel and the Great Sphinx and the pyramids of Giza. From the moment you arrive in Cairo, you will be awestruck if you are like most visitors. You could spend days in Cairo just at the museum, souks, and other historical points of interest. We will focus on the pyramids located on the outskirts of Cairo, in Giza, the Pyramid of Khufu is the biggest Egyptian pyramid that the ancients left for us to admire and is best known as The Great Pyramid or the Tomb of Kings. It is the only surviving pyramid that still has part of the polished limestone casing near its top. Entering the great pyramid is an experience you will never forget—it is tight, narrow, with many steps up and down, and claustrophobic until you reach the inner tomb area–then you have to maneuver the same steps to get back outside again. However, when you do exit the Pyramid you will be amazed that you were inside such a huge ancient chamber. Of course, nothing would be complete without riding a camel in and around the pyramids. Photos ops present themselves constantly while you journey through Egypt. While you are in Giza paying your respects to the ancients, be sure and stop by the Pyramid of Menkaure and curtsey to the Queen’s pyramid (a cluster of three small pyramids) sitting to the right. If you have the time don’t miss the other important sights in Egypt mentioned above, they will leave you breathless sometimes, speechless others, and thinking you can’t believe what you just saw or experienced when in Luxor and Abu Simbel as an example. Come enjoy one of the world’s top travel destinations and discover enchanting Egypt.
