Air travel is affordable for many and very common today. A huge number of people travel by air every year, with some business people even traveling on a weekly basis. If you are about to travel anytime soon, you should know about airline restrictions regarding what you can and cannot bring with you on the airplane.
Certain airlines are stricter than others are, but differences are not really crucial and there are certain rules that apply for all of them. Let’s go through some of the most important ones. First of all, make sure to check with your airline company how many items of hand luggage and checked baggage you can carry and the maximum size and weight, as it will help you avoid the additional and unexpected costs and delays at check in.
If you are carrying liquids (hair products, perfumes, etc.) pack them in checked baggage if possible. Otherwise make sure that none of the liquids exceed 3.4 oz. (100 ml) and that all containers are located in a single plastic zip-top bag not exceeding the size of 8 in x 8 in (20 cm x 20 cm).
Also, note that devices like radios, wireless and portable GPS devices etc. are not permitted on a flight. Other electronic devices, including laptops, notebooks, tablets and cell phones must remain off during takeoff and landing, for as long as the seat belt sign is turned on.
